Laurie grew up in rural Will County, later becoming a Registered Nurse. She has worked in every aspect of nursing, from the emergency room to home health. Laurie chose to learn every job she could so she could excel as a "float" nurse, working in various departments.
In 2016 and 2018, Laurie ran for Will County Board and won. Being a Commissioner gave her insight into each and every department of Will County. More recently, Laurie accepted a job to work for our coroner as Deputy Chief Coroner. This opportunity has allowed her to learn the ins and outs of the Coroner’s office and has lead to her running for Coroner.
Laurie is proud to be the only medical professional in this race. If elected, She will be the first coroner who has been a nurse – not to mention, the first coroner who’s a woman. In addition, Laurie will bring her persistence and expertise to this important office.
Support Laurie and vote for Laurie Summers for Coroner on March 17, 2020!
